Truly More Than 1,000 Words

I first want to thank those who read my RENT critique… some notes… A LOT of things need fixing (sadly that won’t help my, but c’est la vie… however after a few prim and polishes… I think I’ll step away from the review for a little while.

Whenever I look at a photo album… or just random photos of me and my friends on FACEBOOK… I never realize the impact those photos have… When I was younger… digitally looking at your photos was very advanced. I’d go to the local drugstore… or sometimes even Wal-Mart… and drop of that roll of film… after waiting a couple days… I’d excitedly open up the envelope and pull out the barrage of photos… True.. they were essentially just pieces of special paper with images on them… However… whenever I look at a photo now… there’s so much more than that… In pictures … changes are documented… celebrations… trials.. triumphs… and it speaks way beyond what was actually captured… I flip through my album of photos on Facebook … and think.. Man?That was only a year ago? Or… did that really happen? There are pictures of celebrations… I see my birthdays… anniversaries… holidays… In those pictures… I also see happiness… suprise… smiles… and most importantly… love… Whether I’m with my family or with a group of friends… the smiles represent the time we sacrifice in our day to spend with someone we care about… If we’re lucky those memories… laughter… and smiles will last a lifetime… Through not only physical change… I see an emotional growth… Looking at the picture of me graduation day reminds me that I left high school wanting a second chance at doing things right. That diploma in hand represents a girl that even though she got distracted(and yes… admittedly boy crazy…) she rose above struggles and achieved a goal fourteen years in the making. Through more photos I remind myself through good and positive thinking… good things happen. There is a reason why EPCOT is my wallpaper for my Mac. Acting as a daily mantra that “dreams do come true” … I hope to someday return with my family.. possibly even working there… Not everything in life is “peachy keen”… however.. when we remind ourselves of the wonderful things we have… and what we are given… I think that outweighs and negative things weighing us down… So… next time you look at the photos what will you see?? Good times at a party?? Or lifelong memories?
