Today’s been a very surreal day… most of it was spent with my family on the road. Whenever you’re on the road, you think… a lot… and today was no different. Even though I went to NKOTBSB 3 weeks ago, it’s been constantly on mind ever since.
There’s a lot of reasons why that night was unforgettable. The first is being able to experience that night with my best friend –Someone very dear to me who’s been there for me since the beginning. We don’t get to see each other often during the school year, and so going to that concert together is something I hold very dear in my heart.
Another reason why I feel like this concert was so momentous was because I was holding a lot inside. Before, I would vent but not release every negative thing bothering me. Going to the concert that night, and experiencing feel-good music, laughs, and most of kindness was something that really moved me. It felt like I released a lot of the negativity inside of me, and just focused on being happy.
That night was the happiest I’ve felt in a really long time. Yes, I love my family and friends dearly… and yes they make me happy, but sometimes whenever you’re holding a lot inside–even the ones closest to you don’t really know how you feel. That night just lifted a huge weight off my shoulders… And even though I live in a reality with daily stresses, I’m at a place where I look at all the good things… and the NKOTBSB concert really helped with that.
To Midnight Red, I really appreciate everything… Just from replying to silly tweets, to Retweeting my blog, to actually reading my blog. You guys are such kind gentlemen, and I want to thank you all for your kindness. I’ll say it a million times, your kindness and your talents will bring you to new heights. There’s a lot of wannabe groups out there, but you truly show the world that you came to the stage to make your dreams come true.
Matt Morrison, I want to thank you for being so kind to Tulsa. Not a lot of acts have your class, talent, maturity, and your sweetness. It takes a lot to make a crowd smile, dance, and most of all appreciate your music. You did all of that and so much more. I can’t wait to see you to shine even brighter than you do now. Thank you so much for coming, and I can’t wait to see you again real soon.
To New Kids on the Block… You guys paved the way to a lot of great things in the music biz. The thing I’ll take away the most from you guys is how really sweet you all are. Your men of family, faith and most of all love. I see how you treat your fans and it’s with the upmost respect. There isn’t a lot of that in the entertainment industry these days. You are role models, and not only that your loyal and nonetheless talented. Thank you for your sincerity, your music, and most of all bringing a smile on my each day. I’ll def. think about you in the summertime. 😉
Finally, Backstreet Boys… what can I say? I remember when I was in 5th grade jamming to your music. In the pre-YouTube days… my sisters and I would Google Video Backstreet Boys wannabe groups who lip synched to your songs. In high school my best friend and I would random car dance to the Millennium album. So many great memories, and I have you to thank for all of them. You guys amazed me at the show. Nick–making me laugh with his “Casanova”/hyped up antics. AJ for making me laugh by putting his underwear over his jeans. Brian for making me smile as you waved to my section when the house lights were on. Finally, Howie for being so sweet as you passed by my aisle during “Shape of My Heart.” You all made me and my best friend so happy. I wish I could do something to show my appreciation… but to quote you, “my love is all I have to give.” 😉 Thank you so much, I really can’t express how much you all mean to me.
In conclusion, I just wanna say how incredible this journey has been. Tonight may be the end of the tour, but it’s not the end. We have 116 days until the BSB cruise (who’s counting, right? ;)) and there’s plenty more stuff coming NKOTB’s way… Definitely more things coming NKOTBSB’s way. Once again, thank you. I’ll be loving you forever, because that what makes you larger than life. 😉
Hugs and kisses,
Stephanie L. Pham
