1man·i·fes·to noun \ˌma-nə-ˈfes-(ˌ)tō\ – a written statement declaring publicly the intentions, motives, or views of its issuer
Walt Disney said, “All out dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” In this struggling economy, it seems like courage is hard to come by. History proved that in strife, the strongest people have come out them. After viewing Jubilee Project’s “Dear Daniel” (see the previous post for link), I knew what I wanted to write: The Passion of a Dream.
The Passion of A Dream Manifesto
Everyone experiences others doubting their dreams, or doubt in themselves. Today that stops. Life’s too short not to chase after a dream. The key is to start taking action and start right now…
Don’t Be Afraid to Ask/Do
A lot of people have this mentality that asking for something looks weak. The reality is it’s ok to ask! It sounds hard… but life lessons are learned by taking risks. You have to build up the courage to chase after what your desires.
Believe in Yourself
The job market scares everyone, but we can’t let that stop us. We have to remember this nation has seen war, economic depression, and hosts of tragic events. Beyond that, other countries around the world deal with life-threatening struggles on a daily basis. It’s all about perspective. Take a look inside of you. You are wonderful. Even if I don’t know you, I still think you have the potential to do whatever.
It took Edison thousands of attempts before getting the light bulb correct. You have to work hard to earn that respect and credibility. Compliment that belief, and make a pledge to work hard each day.
No More Negativity
Now, I’m guilty of thinking negatively. I can’t block it out entirely, but I choose to not let it stop me. I’m going to do what I love, and the paycheck does not matter a bit. As long as I can survive, and give back to my family that has supported me I am happy. Whenever you lose hope, or someone tells you that you can’t do something, it’s your opportunity to say, “No. I can do it. If I fail, I tried and that’s more than anyone can ask for.” Bullying hurts so many. We lose too many good people in this world, all thanks to something so dark and destructive. Have the courage to stand up for yourself. The first step in changing the world is to change yourself.
It doesn’t take something big to change the world. It starts with one person and then becomes a movement. You don’t have to help out a mass crowd. All it takes is for you to believe in yourself – and the desire to inspire at least one other person.
I, Stephanie Pham, hereby declare the Passion of A Dream Manifesto in effect. May the dreamers continue to dream, and may everyone inspire each other.
