A Letter to My Fellow Westies

To my fellow Westies:

Rob,

I know you’re not on FB, but hopefully someone will pass this along to you. When I asked you at a party if you could teach me WCS, you could’ve easily said, “no it’s for advanced dancers.” You patiently walked me through some basic steps, and thus began my journey into this dance I’m so in love with. Thank you for your immense amount of patience. Every dancer needs a solid foundation. Sir, I credit you for giving me the courage to move on and learn more. You’re a great leader, and I’m so humbled and honored I could be your assistant. A million thanks, and I look forward to doing more WCS with you in the future.

Nick,

Remember in my private lessons where I could not get a whip or sugar push down to save my life? AND THAT’S BASIC! You could’ve yelled, you could’ve given up on me, but you didn’t. You walked with me through each step, as if I was a kindergartener learning how to write. I feel like I’ve grown so much in this dance, and I owe a lot of that to you. I know I can make the class frustrating sometimes, but challenging ourselves is how we get better. Thank YOU, and as far as I’m concerned Ben Morris has nothing on ya. 😉

Chris, Karen, Josh, and Jeff

My Beyond basic buddies! Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of your class. I know sometimes I’m a total spaz, and I don’t get things quite as fast as you guys do. I have a long way to go, but I feel good knowing I can watch you guys and learn from you guys. You all are such fantastic dancers. It’s been a blast laughing and learning with you. Dance on and continue being awesome.

Yen-Oanh and my fellow Intro buddies!

It’s been fun helping Rob out! You guys picked up West Coast faster than I ever did in my dancing years. You all look terrific, and I have enormous respect for you guys. Hope to see you guys next month, and keep up the great work! It’s been a pleasure dancing with all of you! And Yen-Oanh, let’s make Dallas Dance happen! 😉 Our kidnapping/dinner date with Ben Morris will be the best ever.

Thank you all, and I look forward to celebrating the awesomeness of West Coast with you in the future.
